As soon as it starts to get cold that means it's time to start planning what you'll get up to this winter. There's a Vancouver skating rink that's loved by locals you have to check out this season. Each year when it opens, it's the unofficial heads-up that winter is here and it's time to have fun. The Robson Square Ice Rink is hidden below street level and tucked under a dome that glows with light in the winter. It will officially open for the season on Sunday, December 1. Even though you're right in the heart of the city, you'll feel like you're in a quaint small town as you glide around the rink. On the weekends, the rink is open late until 11 p.m. so it's a great date-night idea for what to do after your movie or dinner plans. Ice skating is one of Canada's favourite things to do in the winter. We even have the longest ice skating path in the world. While it's by no means the largest rink, Robson Square has its own charm. There are usually plenty of amazing holiday lights to check out nearby, too. This ice rink is on our winter bucket list because it's so cute that you have to do it at least once this season. Bundle up in a scarf and extra layers and lace-up to hit the ice.
