You Can Now Take A Bus To A Massive Ancient Glacier In Alberta

The Athabasca Glacier is the most visited glacier in North America and one of the largest non-polar ice fields in the world! From now until October 20, 2019, you can reach the Athabasca Glacier via the Columbia Icefield Adventure bus tour.
The all-terrain shuttle bus will take you the Athabasca Glacier, in Jasper National Park. Once you arrive, you'll get the chance to walk on the ancient glacier within the marked safe area. When visiting, make sure to bring an empty water bottle as you can fill it with glacier water to drink.
As part of the tour, you'll also get to cross a jaw-dropping Columbia Icefield Skywalk, a glass floor sitting 918 feet above the ground! The 1 km trail isn't for the faint of heart, as you can see straight down. Along the Columbia Icefield Skywalk, you can enjoy an incredible birds-eye view of the surrounding waterfalls, wildlife and mountains.
The Columbia Icefield Adventure is $99 if you buy your ticket in advance and includes the bus tour to the glacier and Skywalk admission. The shuttle bus departs from the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre which is 1 hour from Jasper, and 2.5 hours from Banff.
