If you're a Canadian fan of JRR Tolkien's epic fantasy adventures like The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings, New Zealand might be a bit too far to visit. Luckily, Good Knights Entertainment is in the midst of completing their own project called “The Burrows” — they will be underground dwellings for rent with round doors, round windows, barrel ceilings and all the distinctive elements that you imagine from Tolkien's world!\nIf you’ve ever wanted to live like a Hobbit (without the big hairy feet, of course) then this is your chance. Each burrow will be its own self-contained home with in-floor heating and a fireplace so you can stay cozy.\nGood Knights has a medieval-encampment experience right now that's kind of like something out of Game of Thrones and it's totally immersive. "The Burrows" will be similar to their current offerings and your stay will include costumes and activities to help pull you into the fantasy world. It's almost like Calgary is getting its own version of Hobbiton.\nView this post on Instagram To be honest, I didn’t think I’d enjoy Hobbiton 🤭 Generally I’m not a huge fan of commercialized stuff. Never been to Disneyland, not really into amusement parks or novelty experiences.⠀ BUT I LOVED THIS. 😆⠀ I found myself amazed as I walked around the set in the morning fog. It was such an incredible display of human creativity. That this whole world was created out of people’s imaginations really blew me away. Big thanks to the team at @hobbitontours for giving me a new perspective!⠀ .⠀ 📷 @rachelroams with my edit.⠀ @hobbitontours 🌿 #hobbitontours #hobbiton A post shared by Erin Sullivan (@erinoutdoors) on Apr 6, 2019 at 6:23pm PDT\nHere's what you can expect from "The Burrows" when they open:\nA private luxury underground burrow tucked into the hill built for two\n\n\nRound doors and windows\n\n\nRichly decorated interiors\n\n\nA bedroom, hall, bathroom, and sitting room in each burrow\n\n\nPrivate outdoor garden for each burrow\n\n\nA cozy fireplace\n\n\nThemed costumes for your stay\n\n\nAll breakfasts, first and second and elevensies served in the dining hall\nCheck out these drawings of what the interiors will look like!
