Alberta is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful provinces in the country. With sprawling prairies and towering mountains, gorgeous lakes and stunning sunsets - we have it all. We also are home to two of the most popular (and beautiful) national parks - Banff and Jasper. The majority of people who visit Alberta end up making their way to either one or both of these spots.

But what about us local Albertans who are tired of going to Lake Louise for the 500th time? Are there any other parks in the province that are worthwhile? Well, heck to the yes. This province is much bigger than just Banff and Jasper National Parks. We have an abundance of underrated provincial parks that don't get the attention they deserve. The upside to that though, is that they aren't nearly as busy!

Have you ever heard of William A. Switzer Provincial Park? Neither had I, but now it's my next road trip destination, and here's why:

Isn't it gorgeous!? William A. Switzer Provincial Park is SO underrated. Whether you're into camping, hiking, or simply just spending the day lakeside, this place has everything, and it definitely needs to be your next road trip destination.

The park is located right next to Jasper National Park, about a 3-hour drive west of Edmonton. Pack a cooler, pack a tent, and pack your swimsuit; a road trip here with friends is bound to be a trip to remember!
