There is a new frosty experience that you've got to try if you want to make the most of the natural beauty of Alberta. You can now fall asleep next to the Columbia Icefield, and it sounds incredible. The Glacier View Lodge is Canada's only hotel of its kind, and you need to see the breathtaking view.

The Albertan accommodation near Banff is getting so much hype right now.

It was just listed by Travel + Leisure as one of the best new hotels in the world, and by Forbes as one of the top five lodgings in the country.

With so many new resorts opening each year, it is tough to make it on the list. But what is truly unique about this lodge is not only the location but the features included in your stay.

The alpine chalet is at the edge of the largest ice field in the Rocky Mountains. So when you stay here, you'll enjoy a picture-perfect lookout of the towering mountains and glaciers throughout the property.

There are different room packages available, with the options to book just the room or the all-inclusive experience.

The second option is well worth the splurge as you'll be able to wine and dine, plus enjoy some once-in-a-lifetime experiences you can only do on the ice fields.

In the all-inclusive package, you'll get to start your adventure with a champagne toast. After you've unpacked your bags, you'll then get to skip the crowds of tourists and have a private tour of the Athabasca Glacier, where you'll get to walk on the ice.

Next, you'll get to indulge in a romantic three-course Canadian-inspired gourmet dinner overlooking the glacier.

On the menu, there are tasty dishes like beef tenderloin, Atlantic salmon, and peanut butter and jelly mousse.

To wrap up the night there will be live entertainment, games, and telescopes out for you to stargaze on the viewing deck. Then finally you can enjoy a blissful sleep in one of the comfortable rooms that have a gorgeous mountain view.

Once you wake-up, you'll then get to devour a hearty breakfast from the extensive buffet spread. Then you will get transported to the Columbia Icefield Skywalk, to enjoy a private morning tour.

There you'll get to test your courage and walk across a 1-kilometre glass walkway that is 280-metres in the air. Just like the CN Tower's glass floor, you'll be able to see straight down, allowing you to feel like you are walking in the sky.

This year you'll be able to book a stay starting Friday, April 17, until it closes for the winter season in October. Rooms range in price from $448 to $778 a night.
