Hope you’re in the mood for a little afternoon activity because we have just the thing for you. Alberta is home to a super short and easy hike that takes you to a hidden canyon. The hard Luck Canyon hike is only one kilometre in length and it will give you access to a super gorgeous waterfall.

Hikes don’t have to be an all-day extravaganza. If you only have a few short hours to kill or just want to spend the day relaxing somewhere with a view, then there are tons of hikes around Alberta for you.

One of the best tucked away secrets is a super short and easy hike in the Woodlands County area.

It’s only one kilometre. Literally.

Even though it’s a short walk, it takes you to some pretty incredible views. Talk about getting the most bang for your buck.

During the brief hike, you will be walking through a hidden canyon that is home to a stunning two-tiered waterfall.

Don’t worry, we'll tell you how to get there.

The trial head for Hard Luck Canyon is located about 20 kilometres from Whitecourt in Woodlands County.

The trail itself is well marked so don’t worry about getting lost. There's also a large map in the parking lot that you can take a picture of and reference throughout your hike.

If you’re curious about how this trail looks, just check out Instagram.

The geotag is filled with gorgeous pictures and it’s actually shocking how many iconic views are in one short walk.

There is an adorable bridge that you can walk along that will take you above the waterfall.

If you’re up for an adventure, walk down for an up-close and personal look at the natural wonder.

The waterfall flows down two tiers of rocks that then moves into a shallow rock pool. Just be careful when you are walking around as the rocks can be slippery.

There are tons of adventures around Alberta and this one is definitely worth the road trip

Make a day out of it and take a picnic. Just be sure to be respectful of the area so everyone can enjoy it.
