Have you ever wanted to spend a night in a real life igloo? One that won't collapse on your head while you're sleeping? I mean, of course you have, you're Canadian.

Well, all your dreams have come true. Just a road trip away to Quebec, you'll find a hotel made completely of ice and snow. Yes, even the bed frame is made of ice. There is no winter experience like this one, so get ready to book as soon as you're done reading this article.

Hotel de Glace, which of course means ice hotel in English, is probably the most unique hotel experience you'll ever have. With 44 rooms and themed suites available, your options are endless. You can choose from a room that imitates an igloo, a themed suite that has ice sculptures inside, premium suites with a fireplace inside, or a deluxe room that has a fireplace and a private spa. Hi, where do I sign up?

On site, there is an ice bar that looks like something you would see out of a movie. Along with your stay at the Hotel de Glace, you can buy packages that will allow you to do all of the activities on site. They have shuttles going back and fourth between the hotel and the activities, so you definitely won't have to worry about how to get back. For adults, the ice bar package is $24 dollars and 100% worth it. I mean, shots come in ice cubes–this can't be real.

If you think you're going there just to spend the night in an ice hotel, think again. There are so many activities to do you may end up extending your trip. Here are a few that will make your trip:

  • A winter playground
  • Indoor waterpark
  • Valcartier Spa
  • Games area
  • Dogsledding
  • Restaurants

If all of this sounds amazing to you, they have great package deals that will give you everything you want and more. Some of them include breakfast, free access to one of the activities above, a welcome cocktail and of course, the most important part, the room.

Hotel de Glace is only open from January 4th, 2017 to March 26th, 2017. Of course, because the weather needs to be cold enough to keep the hotel intact. So what are you waiting for? Put this on your 2017 bucket list and book the trip! It's about 5 hours away from Ottawa located in Quebec, but that distance means nothing when it's something this cool–no pun intended.
