This Easy Boardwalk Rainforest Trail In BC Is Perfect For Your Friend Who Hates Hiking
The perfect spring hike! 🌲
B.C. is famous for being full of natural wonders and people who love to explore them. But not everyone is an outdoor adventurer at heart. Some of us rather check out doughnut shops rather than trails. If you happen to have a friend who hates hiking, then we found an easy rainforest trail in B.C. that even they will enjoy.
The Giant Cedars Boardwalk Trail is in the lush Mount Revelstoke National Park and it's the perfect remedy for your not-so-outdoorsy friend. It is a six-hour drive from Vancouver or a four and a half-hour drive from Calgary.
Within our province, we can adventure to lakes with crystal clear water, enjoy the lookout from mountain peaks and discover hidden waterfalls.
But some of these trails might not appeal to everyone as they can take a few hours.
Instead, this boardwalk trail is a flat through the world's only inland cedar rainforest.
Along the route through an incredible , you'll get up close to trees that are over 500 years old.
The best time to visit is in the early morning or early evening, according to Parks Canada.
The entire loop is only half a kilometre and will take just 15 minutes to complete. So you can see all the sights without worrying about getting exhausted on an arduous climb.
Some of the most common complaints some people make about exploring nature paths are how long they can take, or how steep the terrain is.
But this super is not only quick and easy to follow but a leisurely stroll too.
While there are a few stairs, it isn't a challenging climb. You're more likely to break a sweat capturing the perfect photo than from the hike itself.
To visit the trail, you'll need to visit between June till the end of September. Before you depart, make sure to check the trail conditions.
You will also need to purchase a park pass for Mount Revelstoke National Park, which is $10.00 a person. Or if you already have a Parks Canada Discovery Pass you can enter for free.
