If you’re looking to get away from the city and are up for a little adventure, then we have the perfect thing for you. Salt Spring Island is just a ferry ride away from Vancouver and it's a bucket list location. The island itself offers you everything your travelling heart desires but their cheese scene takes the cake.

Salt Spring Island in B.C. is calling your name. Home to 11,000 residents, this little town is the epitome of island living.

Now that phase 3 is officially underway in the province, visitors are welcome.

When you pay for your way there, you get a two-way ticket. This means that you get your ride there and back for $17.20 if you are travelling on foot.

Salt Spring is fun because you don’t necessarily need a vehicle when you get there. Everything is super accessible and there are tons of rentals of varying prices to choose from.

Shopping on the island is a hit because the town is dripping with local talent.

From cute little jewelry stores to clothing and souvenirs, they have it all. But the cheese is what might end up stealing your heart.

For all you lactose lovers out there, get ready to indulge in some serious snacks.

The local cheese is divine but not only does it taste great, it looks adorable.

The Salt Spring Cheese Company sells cheese with adorable flowers pressed right into it.

It seriously looks like a decoration and it makes for the perfect souvenir to bring home to your friends and family.

You can even visit the farm and cuddle with some of the adorable goats that help make their famous cheeses.

Their cheese is known everywhere and they have even won awards for it.

If you want to support local but cheese isn’t your thing, hit up the Saturday market.

Every Saturday, residents in Salt Spring sell a wide variety of their handmade goods including soaps, jams, baked goods, and jewelry.

There’s even local wine that goes perfect with all that cheese.

Once you are done stuffing your face full of food, take in one of the many hikes in the area. Salt Spring Island has some amazing things to see.

The seclusion of the island is perfect if you need to get out of the city and into nature.

We could go on and on about this island but at some point, you’re just going to have to take our word for it and see for yourself.

Send us a postcard when you get there.
