This Travel Company Wants To Pay You To Relax On A Mediterranean Beach And Do Nothing And There's No Catch
If it sounds too good to be true, it's not.
If your ideal job involves doing absolutely nothing, you're going to want to keep reading.
TUI, one of the world’s largest travel agencies, is looking for someone who 'takes great pride in doing as little as possible at any cost'. If you have no interest whatsoever in interacting with others and have no ability at all to multitask, TUI wants you.
The company is hiring four people as "Fakeation Specialists" to hang out in a cozy office that's decked out in Mediterranean beach decor, in summer attire with their feet in the sand.
So what will you actually be doing? Absolutely nothing. The job ad states the chosen candidates will:
Sit in a beach chair wearing a summer outfit (not only swimwear) with your feet in the sand. Alternatively lie on a beach towel if you find that more comfortable
Have a well-needed nap, read a book of your choice, listen to your favorite music, do some meditation or other similarly relaxing activity
Completely ignore stressful bypassing commuters and focus on your own relaxation
"Previous experience of sleeping at your workplace is highly appreciated, but with the right mindset we believe that you can be a successful candidate regardless of your past working experience," the company wrote.
Yeah, we're not kidding.
If it sounds too good to be true, it's not. The TUI website states that slackers will be paid hourly, at a rate "guaranteed to be way too high in relation to performance". Shifts will run from 7am to 1pm and 1pm to 7pm.
The job is based in Stockholm, Sweden, but the advertisement does not state any restriction on citizenship or resident requirements. If the idea of basically getting paid to sleep sounds like something you'd be interested in, you can apply here.
Best of luck!
