This 7.5km Waterfront Trail Takes You Through A Beautiful Nature Sanctuary In Ontario
A stunning outdoor adventure!
If you look out your window right now you'll be greeted with sunshine and zero clouds in sight instead of the usual grey skies and snow storms that we've been getting for the last four months.
I don't know about you guys but this kind of weather makes me super excited for summer and the outdoor adventures I'm going to go on! There's one adventure in particular that should be at the top of your list and it's the 7.5-kilometre waterfront trail that takes you through a beautiful nature sanctuary called Cootes Paradise.
Cootes Paradise is a marsh wetland located in Hamilton, Ontario that is home to a 7.5-kilometre waterfront boardwalk trail. Throughout this trail you'll find forest staircases, boardwalk paths over marsh wetlands, tons of wildlife sighting opportunities and lookout points throughout onto Hamilton Harbour!
There's a reason this trial is named after a paradise because nature and wildlife lovers will feel like they're in an actual paradise here. Throughout the warm months you can spot turtles, deer, birds and so much more if you keep your eyes peeled!
Cootes Paradise became an official nature sanctuary back in 1927 and spans 600 hectares of land and 320 hectares of river wetlands! It's one of the most important nature sanctuaries in the province, home to tons of rare and threatened species.
It's a truly beautiful and unique place to explore and get in touch with nature this summer in the lush forests, through the marsh wetlands and past the waterfront views!
