Surely, I can't be the only one who's looking forward to seeing some snow. There's just something about the white-coated trees and the delightful chill in the air that gives me a happy feeling inside. One of my favourite places to visit during the winter is actually just a short 50-minute drive from Toronto.

Gage Park in Brampton, Ontario is decorated with bright lights and colourful decorations as part of the town's Tree Lighting ceremony. In the winter time, a path that encircles a cozy gazebo in the centre of the park is converted into a public skating trail where families and friends can enjoy a lovely winter skate together. The best part - it's free for all!

This year, the Tree Lighting ceremony will officially begin on Nov 18 and will run from 6 PM to 8 PM. Enjoy festivities such as Letters to Santa, Princess ShowBattle of the Chainsaws Ice sculpting, LED Ballet, and the Grand Finale: Laser Light Show.

Currently, the city's website indicates that the skating trail is still closed for the season. However, the rink usually opens sometime in December in time for the holiday season.
