You Can Watch "It" And Other Horror Movies At This Drive-In Theatre Near Toronto
A unique way to get your horror movie fix.
With October just around the corner, Torontonians are looking for fun ways to get into the Halloween spirit. Many people celebrate the spooky season by binge-watching horror movies, but those itching to take that experience to the next level should consider visiting the 5 Drive-In, Oakville's premier vintage drive-in theatre!
Located just 30 minutes from Toronto, the 5 Drive-In is a cozy alternative to your living room couch. Movie-goers from across the GTA visit the theatre to get an authentic drive-in movie experience.
The box office typically opens around 7 pm, and guests can purchase tickets there. Each ticket gives you access to one screen on the lot that will play two separate full-length movies, so you can expect to spend an entire evening at the theatre. When at the lot, guests park their cars at their desired spots and grab concession snacks before the movie begins.
You can bring lawn chairs and watch from the outside if you like, or if you have a hatchback vehicle, you can park your car with the rear facing the screen so you can open the back and watch from the inside. Just make sure to bring pillows and blankets! Animals are also permitted, as long as they are kept under control during the film.
Currently, 5-Drive In is playing two great horror films to ring in the Halloween season: It, the 2017 reboot of Stephen King classic, and Annabelle: Creation, the prequel to the 2014 box office hit. Kingsman: The Golden Circle and The Hitman's Bodyguard are also playing through to the end of September.
New films are added every season, so we can expect a line-up of other films (including those of the horror genre) to arrive at the theatre as Halloween approaches. To stay updated on what movies are coming soon, visit the 5 Drive-In website.
