You don't need to go all the way to the Caribbean to have an island vacation — there's a small island near Ontario that has everything you need for a beachy summer getaway.\nMackinac Island, known as "The Jewel of the Great Lakes," is a charming resort destination located in the heart of Lake Huron, just off the shores of Michigan State's upper and lower peninsulas. The island is a popular getaway in the summer, with thousands of people visiting each year for its vibrant neighbourhoods, cozy beaches, and old-world feel.\nView this post on Instagram Main Street Mackinac ❤️#mackinacisland #shopsmall #littleluxuriesofmackinac #makeitmackinac #mymackinac #puremichigan #michigan A post shared by Little Luxuries of Mackinac (@littleluxuriesofmackinac) on May 21, 2018 at 4:32pm PDT\nView this post on Instagram Land of no cars 🚘 #biking #mackinacisland #puremichigan #memorialdayweekend #travel #summer2018 #iphonephotography #iphonex A post shared by Narasimha Sama (@narasimha_sama) on May 28, 2018 at 4:48pm PDT\nView this post on Instagram With all the awnings back on and the original roofline restored, Grand Hotel is looking fantastic going into her 133rd Season! In fact, it's so small that it's able to survive completely without cars — the only way to get around is by horse buggy, bicycle, or foot.\nThere are several points of interest to explore, including the historic Grand Hotel, the Lilac Tree Inn (which is the main site for the island's annual lilac festival), the 18th-century Fort Mackinac Museum, and the famous Mackinac Street with its 19th-century shops, boutiques, and fine dining restaurants.\nThe island also boasts an incredible nightlife, with bars and dancing until the early morning.\nView this post on Instagram Grand Hotel - never get tired of these views! #MPC18 A post shared by Kari Walker (@karunaman) on May 29, 2018 at 2:33pm PDT\nembedded via\nView this post on Instagram Куда я пропала? ⠀ Сейчас у меня нет времени практически ни на какие соц. сети - Алена страдает от джетлага. Ferries depart from two ports: St. Ignace, MI, in the upper peninsula, and Mackinaw City, MI, in the lower peninsula. Those coming from Toronto would need to make the drive to either city first, and then take the corresponding ferries to the island.\nBoth ports are easily accessible from Ontario. St. Ignace is just a short 54-minute drive from Sault Ste. Marie, making it a convenient access point for those living in the Algoma District. Conversely, Mackinaw City is a longer (but still doable) four-hour drive from Windsor, so those living in southwestern Ontario could opt for that route instead.\nView this post on Instagram #mackinacisland #mackinawcity #notnewyork #pleasetakemeback #finally #iflifewasabeach #familytime #soonnotsosoon #toomanyhashtags A post shared by Mayuresh (@therapy_ted) on May 23, 2018 at 7:05pm PDT\nView this post on Instagram Summer is around the corner!💙☀️⚓️ ⠀⠀ Come make memories with us.....😎 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ #mackinac #mackinac #innkeepers #bedandbreakfast #makeitmackinac #mackinacisland #mackinacislandlife #mymackinac #thisismackinac #beourguest #travelmichigan #michiganlove #michiganawsome #upnorth #upnorthmichigan #northernmichigan #puremichigan #puremittigan #puremittenpride #nowbooking #beautifuldestinations #thegreatlakesstate #mittenstate #visitus #bestvacations #exploremore #goplayoutside #doyoutravel #openmyworld #travelawesome #wonderful_places A post shared by Cottage Inn Of Mackinac (@cottageinn_mackinac) on May 2, 2019 at 3:09am PDT\nView this post on Instagram I wanna go back now!
