You Need To Visit Ontario's Largest Lavender Field This Summer
You can smell it from here.
Few scents are as magical as a full lavender field in bloom.
Ontario is home to many beautiful lavender farms located all over, but one in particular one should definitely be on your list: Terre Bleu, known as the province's largest field.
Today Terre Bleu is an organic working family farm, we are not a botanical garden. We grow eight varieties of lavender and as such the state of the blooms vary continuously. Like any other farmed crop we experience crop damage and losses due to extreme weather conditions. We also harvest the beautiful blooms at peak times to be able to make our very best handmade lavender products, so please set your expectations accordingly.
Terre Bleu, a lavender farm located 45 minutes from Toronto in Milton, started in 2011 and has blossomed (literally) into the magical place it is today. 47 000 lavender plants come to life here every year at this family run farm, and the smell and sight are truly enticing.
They are opened from 11am-4pm daily to visitors, and the best time to visit is during lavender season, which is July through to August. The farm has 9 different kinds of lavender, with some even blooming as early as June. Make sure to try some of their delicious lavender flavoured ice cream while you're there!
The farm carries many different kinds of products, from beauty to honey to essential oils, all made locally and organically. Lavender oil is AMAZING for your skin as well so on your pillow to help with sleep.
Definitely a spot to add to your Ontario bucket list! For more info, click here.
