As 2019 comes to a close it's time to start dreaming about where and when you're going to take a vacation next year. It's never too early to start figuring out where the best destinations are and how to get the most bang for your buck when you travel. Take note though, a few of the top trending destinations for 2020 are only sort of safe for you to travel to, according to the federal government, so be prepared on trips next year.

According to Dollar Flight Club, a subscription service that alerts members about the world's cheapest flight deals, five destinations around the world are trendy for 2020 and people really want to go there.

Using flight data from over one million people in more than 100 countries Dollar Flight Club predicts that places in Indonesia, France, Greece, Japan and Italy will be top destinations to travel to in 2020.

Even though those destinations are very in-demand, not all of them are completely safe for you to jet off to. In a couple of cases, there are high-level travel advisories in place.

Here are five trending travel destinations for 2020 and how safe they are according to the government of Canada.

Bali, Indonesia

Bali is a beautiful destination with stunning beaches and clear water along with other natural landscapes like caves and waterfalls. It's definitely the place to go for an adventure.

According to the government, when travelling to Indonesia you should exercise a high degree of caution because of political and social tensions and the threat of terrorism.

You should also avoid all non-essential travel to the province of Papua because of regular violent incidents.

Paris, France

There are so many iconic things about Paris like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Champs-Elysees and many more. Whether you want to do typical tourist activities or try and live like a local, Paris has so much to offer.

But you should be careful because the government warns Canadians to exercise a high degree of caution while in France because of the elevated threat of terrorism.

Mykonos, Greece

Mykonos is a little island in the Aegean Sea and is popular for the summer party atmosphere. Regardless of if you're into partying or not, there's something for everybody like beautiful beaches or the iconic row of 16th-century windmills that sit above the town.

Plus, Canada gives Greece the green light and you only need to take normal security precautions when travelling there.

Tokyo, Japan

If you want to travel to Tokyo, it's definitely a great place to go.

When taking in the sights and eating the freshest sushi in town at Toyosu Fish Market Take or marvelling at the Tokyo Skytree, take normal security precautions.

Rome, Italy

You can't go wrong with a trip to the Eternal City. With so many delicious food options to try, you'll probably want to add a walking tour at one of the many historical sites to your travel plans.

There's not much to worry about in Rome and you should just take normal security precautions in Italy.

Wherever you travel, the flight club says to be sure to book flights three weeks to four months in advance for savings, fly during the week instead of on weekends and don't sleep on deals because they can change so quickly.
