I'm sure many of you have gone to beautiful, popular tourist suspension bridges like the Capilano Suspension Bridge or Sea to Sky, but there are also many neat and less known bridges and canopy walkways around Vancouver.

In BC, you can enjoy the awesome feeling of being suspended mid-air over rushing canyons, alpine mountains, and lush forests.

Here are 11 of the coolest suspension bridges and canopy walkways in BC:

Sky Pilot at Sea to Sky Gondola // Squamish

A BC favourite for a reason, this suspension bridges offers unprecedented views of Howe Sound. This is a really unique way to view alpine mountains, luscious forest, and a stunning fjord. You can take the gondola or hike up. The bridge is open year round, allowing you to see the summit in all the seasons.

Alexandra Bridge // Spuzzum

This unique and timeless gem was originally built in 1861 and was rebuilt in 1926 for automobiles. Now restricted to foot traffic, the Alexandra Bridge sits over the Fraser River. 

Treetops Adventure // North Vancouver

Wander above and through the West Coast rainforest. The Treetops Adventure at Capilano Suspension Bridge is made up of seven suspension bridges attached to 250 year old Douglas-firs. The bridge takes visitors up to 110 feet high. Admission is included with entrance to Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge // North Vancouver

Entrance is free to this stunning suspension bridge in the middle of Lynn Canyon. Less frequented than Capilano although still popular, if you are lucky you may be one of the few crossing this bridge if you go in the early hours.

Elk Falls Suspension Bridge // Campbell River

Enjoy views of cascading Elk Falls and Campbell River Canyon from this recently built suspension bridge. The bridge has made it more accessible for people to visit Elk Falls and is 60 metres high and 64 metres long.
