8 Amazing Road Trips To Go On In BC Before The Summer Ends

We are lucky to live in such a beautiful city with the most amazing beaches, mountains, and hikes you can access from Vancouver in under an hour and that will feel like a little oasis. But with September right around the corner that means that summer is coming to an end and it’s either back to school or back to work.
So if you can find some time to make it work, get yourself a reliable car, some good friends and great music, and of course some road snack and road trip to one of these amazing BC locations before the Summer Ends.
Kettle River // Okanagan
7 hours from Vancouver
If you like camping and lazing around Kettle River is the place to go. Known for it’s hiking and biking trails but most importantly it’s Lazy River. Don't forget your floaties and spend your days lounging on the Sandy beaches or floating all the down to the river where at the bottom you can enjoy a nice cold beer or ice cream.
The Enchanted Forest and Monashee Mountains // Revelstoke
6 hours from Vancouver
Release your inner child and visit The Enchanged Forest which features figurines, castles, and houses amongst 800 year old cedars in BC’s Monashee Mountains. You can also do some zip lining at the Skytrek adventure park or go for a hike and up the mountains and take in the ice clad peaks.
Othello Tunnels // Hope
2.5 hours from Vancouver
Follow the Othello tunnels over the rushing and wild Coquihalla river and through solid granite walls. Just east of the town of Hope and 10 minutes off the Coquihalla highway, the easy 3.5km hike is definitely worth the trip. Make sure to take a dope Instagram picture while you're at it.
Osoyoos // Okanagan Valley
4 hour drive from Vancouver
If you only have a few days to spare Osoyoos is a great bet. Spend your days lying on the beach along the pleasantly warm lake, go visit a winery, or spend the day at rattlesnake canyon playing mini golf, riding go karts, and eating the best ice cream you've ever had.
Rocky Mountain Trench // Golden to Cranbrook
7 day drive from Vancouver
Road trip through the Rocky Mountain Trench and catch a glimpse of some wildlife. It’s easy to spot big horned sheep, elk, deer and even the occasional bear a long the way. Go on some hikes and see some amazing rivers and lakes such as Kinbasket or Canoe Lake. Just make sure you have a map with you due to it’s exclusive location.
Hot Springs Cove // Tofino
6 hours and boat ride from Vancouver
Road trip to Tofino before catching a boat to this remote location. The cove is located down a cedar trail and consists of a succession of pools with water geothermally heated to 109 degrees and cool down to 50 degrees Celsius as they move toward the ocean.
Jones Lake // Chilliwack
2 hours from Vanco0ver
A little bit of paradise just east of Chilliwack. Make sure you have a vehicle that can handle riding up a 4x4 trail.
Empire of Grass // Merritt (Nicola Valley)
2.5 hour drive from Vancouver
Nicola Valley is know for it’s breathtaking rolling hills, lakes, and grasslands. The location also has a lot of history which dates back to the 1870’s when miners recognized the Valleys potential and established a ranch which is still there for visitors to enjoy.
Harrison Hot Springs // Harrison Lake
2 hours from Vancouver
Although very well known it is definitely still worth the road trip. Soak away your troubles in the famous pools, paddle around a lake or seek out a cool place to cliff dive.
