You Can Ride A 1.4-km Mountain Coaster Through Glades And Tunnels At This B.C. Resort
The best way to experience nature!
British Columbia is filled with incredible mountains that tourists yearn to explore, but you don’t always have to be limited of the scenery from the distance of viewing platforms and gondolas.
In Revelstoke, a city almost directly between Vancouver and Calgary, you can experience BC’s known reputation of nature by riding a mountain coaster through some of the most breathtaking backdrops.
In Revelstoke is the Revelstoke Mountain Resort, an expansive ski resort that operates the mountain coaster from June through October.
As their most popular summer attractions, the Pipe Mountain Coaster is an exhilarating 1.4 km long ride that is filled with twists and turns across the resort’s skin runs, across their glades, and through a tunnel.
Travelling up to 42 km an hour, the ride begins when you enter the resort’s gondola, which will bring you up to the starting line outside the lodge. After strapping into your cart, it’s time to prepare yourself for the drop; where you will push forward to release the breaks of the coaster.
The first drop goes straight into a tunnel, where you will then descend 279 vertical metres of high-speed rail. While the Pipe Mountain Coaster is definitely for the adrenaline junkie, it’s also family-friendly and allows people of all ages to get to enjoy the ride.
With 100% control of the cart, you get complete preference over your speed. You are able to ride individually or can buddy up with small children. However you sit, it’s just certain you’ll want to ride again.
To ride alone, passengers must be 8 years or older. There are also a few more restrictions about riding the mountain coaster that you can check out on their official website.
