There's so much to explore in the South, and luckily, traveling doesn't have to be super expensive. You can take a train from Alabama to New Orleans this summer for just $25. You'll pass endless forests of evergreen trees, sunny skies, and sparkling blue waters on this scenic journey to Nola. Crack open a good book and get cozy for this pretty ride by the countryside. Right now, tickets through the South are super cheap this month, ranging from $25 to $49 before fees. You'll be taking the Amtrak Crescent Train, which shuttles passengers between New York, Atlanta, and New Orleans. The tracks wind through picturesque landscapes in the summertime when the South is lush and green. The ride is about 7 hours and 30 minutes long, so there's plenty of time to dig into that new novel you've meant to read or sketch some drawings of the window views. Bring a travel blanket and pillow and get mega-cozy. View this post on Instagram On our last night on the train @zachspassport asked us to close our eyes and think about our favorite memory of our trip. I immediately thought of this day in glacier national park. Funny thing is I was so sick, pretty sure I had a fever on and off the entire day. But I love it so much bc 1. Glacier was spectacularly beautiful and had me in awe by it's grandeur. 2. Bc I had the pleasure of sitting next to @mikeseehagel all day. I had not had a chance to really chat w him before that point. Mike is an incredible photographer and animator. He took a risk and quit his full time job the day before we left for the #PassportExpress to chase his dreams as a freelancer! I got to learn about his adorable wife @byginni who I'm quite sure is part elvish princess. Mike is incredibly unassuming, never seeking attention, but if you listen close he says the wittiest comments ever that will have you in tears laughing. He's kind and thoughtful and has a heart of gold! I'm so so happy he was a part of this trip! Pic by the cutest Londoner whose laugh could brighten the darkest of days, @h_cato!
