Atlanta's Slutty Vegan Will Open TWO New Locations This Year And We're Already In Line
No seriously, the line is INSANE.
When it comes to food, it's common knowledge that Georgia is unmatched. We have some of the best soul food and southern eats and that's no debate. Who would imagine that vegan food would also be in that running? Slutty Vegan has gotten a local, national and international nod from foodies just about everywhere, skyrocketing them to the front lines of being a fast growing fave fast food joint. Now, we have another location to flock to as Slutty Vegan opens another brick-and-mortar location on Atlanta's Beltline later this year.
Honestly, Slutty Vegan is a bit of a Cinderella story when it comes to local news. Entrepreneur, owener and Clark Atlanta University graduate Aisha "Pinky" Cole first created Slutty Vegan as a food truck in 2018. With a name with "slutty" in the title, the bright yellow truck was sure to turn heads. However, if the name made you curious, the food is what you keep returning for. The all plant-based ingredients are surprisingly flavorful to vegans and carnivores alike. Special sauces, fresh ingredients and a whole lot of love makes these provacatively named burgers a fave in this city.
After much successful with the truck, Slutty Vegan opened the doors to their first brick-and-mortar location on the Westside in January of this year. No different from the food truck, the line always snakes around a corner (maybe two) because the burgers are just that good. You'd be surprised how long people are willing to wait for the famed goods. Even celebrities (Tyler Perry, Jidenna, Tiffany Haddish, Will Smith, Taraji P. Henson and Nas to name a few) have also waited in line for these babies.
Eight months into the first year of the building location and on the first anniversary of the business, Slutty Vegan just announced that they will be opening a third location on the eastside of The Beltline, Edgewood Ave. to be exact, in December of this year. The second location in Joneboro has already been inked earlier this year and is expected to open in October. Since most restaurants fail within their first year of business, this growth is unbelievable.
This came on the heels of the growing brand releasing their own vegan bacon, "Slutty Strips." Cole expressed in a recently published interview that she is currently working on a reality TV show, is looking to franchise Slutty Vegan "to be the fix-it to McDonald's" and mas much more in the works.
If you've never tried this mouthwatering, juicy burgers, you are truly missing out. The OG truck still pops up around Atlanta (they post their next location everyday at 3 p.m. on their Instagram), but the restaurant location is open Tuesday through Friday, 4 p.m to midnight and Saturdays from 4p.m. to 1 a.m. See you in line.
