One of the most expected festivals for Dallasites during springtime is Dallas Blooms. To kick off this year's gigantic floral extravaganza, Dallas Arboretum is hosting a Blooms, Boots & BBQ Fest in February and it promises to be a blast. This is the biggest floral festival in Texas, so get ready to get lost among over 100 varieties of spring-blooming bulbs exploding with color including 500,000 tulips and hundreds of thousands of other flowers. The Blooms, Boots and BBQ Fest will feature tons of yummy BBQ food vendors, dance performances, fun line dancing lessons, music (of course), and a boot contest, so make sure to bring your best pair. Chef Lisa will be doing a cooking demo to show festival-goers how to prepare some Texas-inspired dishes. Now we can say this is going to be a party that would make any Texan proud. You can join the fun for free, you only have to pay the admission ticket to the Dallas Arboretum, which is $12. This is my tray from @2msmokehouse in San Antonio this morning including their moist brisket, pork ribs, turkey, pulled pork, serrano & Oaxacan cheese sausage, beef sausage, their "chicharroni macaroni," and borracho beans. If 2M Smokehouse isn't on your list of places to try in San Antonio then your list isn't complete, you gotta get some of this! Both days from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The BBQ vendors will be offering tasty treats to all the attendees, but besides that, you will be able to jam out to two different bands each of the two days of the fest. The Powell Brother will play on Saturday and For Love and Country on Sunday. As for dance performances, The Lake Highlands Wranglers will be performing on Saturday and SMU Mustang Mavericks will perform both days. Concerts will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage & Lawn.
