Sometimes the stars of Texas align perfectly. Today is one of those days because the most popular slice of pizza in Austin is making its way down to the Gulf Coast in the near future. We have plenty of pizza options here in Houston and most of them are pretty good, but we couldn't be more flattered that Austin's Home Slice Pizza is opening in Houston to share the wealth in our city.

If you have visited the famous South Congress location, you know that on weekends the lines run out the door and getting a delicious slice of their New York-style pizza requires a bit of patience. Take a look below to find out when you can snag one of these pies.

This will be the first time the Austin based restaurant has decided to expand out of our nation's capital, and it's confirmed this isn't just some prank. The owners of Home Slice haven't decided on where the restaurant will be exactly, but word is that it will most likely be in the foodie-friendly Mid-Town District.

At Home Slice, you can order by the slice, or grab a whole pie to share with a friend. If you're feeling really adventurous, you can dive into the signature Chicago style deep-dish offering, but be aware that this sells out rather quickly. Also, they will be serving chicken wings and drinks for all you adults to enjoy.

We will all be anxiously awaiting when we can go catch a vibe at Home Slice, and hopefully, the wait won't be too terribly long. If you just can't wait for a crazy slice of 'za, you can snag a massive slice at this local spot.

Pizza can be the cure for a bad day, and it's one of our favorite comfort foods for that exact reason. The sun is shining a little bit brighter in Houston, Texas today.
