This New Tiki Bar In Houston Is Having A Free Luau-Themed Grand Opening This Month
Free food and a fire show? We're there.

It doesn't take a special event to get us to go out to a new, adorable tiki bar. But if you need an excuse, we've got you covered. This November, Tikila's, a new tiki bar in Houston, is finally hosting their grand opening, luau-style.
Tikila had their soft opening back in April, but they're having their official grand opening on Nov. 8—and this 7-month-in-the-making party is gonna be worth it.
It will begin at 3 p.m. on Nov. 8 and go through Nov. 10 til close at 2 a.m.
On the first day of celebrations, there will be drink specials, a photo booth, some free light bites catered by Bovine & Barley and Izakaya, giveaways, and raffles.
But the real luau fun begins on the second day of celebrations. On Saturday, there will be more specials, a pig roast, a fire dance performance, and a photo booth. And you'll be able to hulu dance away to a live band from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a DJ from 9 p.m. to closing.
Located in the Heights, this tiki bar atmosphere will make you wish you were on a beach vacation, and the cocktails will convince you that you are!
When you're deciding what to get in a cute skull or tiki idol woodcarving cup, here's what to order. The favorite drinks are the house marg, spicy marg, obviously the piña colada, and their twist on a Queen’s Park Swizzle (rum, pineapple, lemon, lime, falernum).
Tikila's will also be hosting a Dia De Los Muertos celebration on Nov. 2, beginning at 11 a.m. There will be a live band, face painting, special cocktails, and food trucks.
There's always reason to celebrate when a new Tiki Bar pops up in the city, so show out, Houston.
