The Houston Rodeo is coming up soon and some could say it's the best time of the year here! All of the concerts and shows, but most of all, the food, make rodeo season the best season. It can get kind of hard to find good meatless options at the rodeo but luckily, there's a Vegan Rodeo coming to town in March and it's the perfect way to celebrate the season cruelty-free!

Vegan State Fair and Veganchill Fest are cohosting the Vegan Rodeo Weekend in East Downtown from Friday, March 27, through Sunday, March 29.

Both hosts are no stranger to putting on plant-based food events in Texas. They both throw huge vegan-friendly fests in multiple cities a year. This year's Houston Rodeo Weekend is going to be one of their biggest events yet.

Every good rodeo has to have carnival rides, music, and of course, plenty of BBQ. They're going to have the top Texas vendors for non-meat BBQ so it's definitely all going to be delicious.

While the rodeo starts on Friday, that is when there will be a Vegan cook-off that is invite-only.

Saturday and Sunday are the days when the rodeo is open to the general public and when all of the vendors will be whipping up their best rodeo-themed fare.

On Saturday, they are going to do the Houston rodeo right by having a Selena tribute band performing her iconic Astrodome show!

Sunday's performer is TBA but it is promised to also be entertaining.

Doors open at noon on Saturday and Sunday and the rodeo goes on until 6 p.m. Vegan Rodeo tickets are currently listed at only $6.

Some of their past vendors have served up plant-based twists to classic rodeo foods like BBQ sandwiches, loaded fries, and deep-fried Oreos.

Get ready to dig into some of the tastiest vegan fair foods in Texas!
