You Can Get A 360 Degree View Of The City At This Spinning Houston Restaurant
Dinner and with a view...and another view...and another view!
The skyline of this city is beautiful, and there are plenty of places to get mesmerized over it as you eat. But a restaurant that gives you an entirely different view of the city for each course? Now that's something we need. And we're in luck, because Spindletop Houston brings 360 degree views of the city.
Plated right on top of the 34th floor of the Hyatt Regency Houston hotel, the entire restaurant is continually rotating at one full revolution every 45 minutes.
The restaurant offers high-end seafood like Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb, Grilled Redfish, and Blackened Atlantic Salmon. If you come with a date, the best deal is Spindletop's Seafood Pot which you can get for two. It's filled with delicious crab claws, shrimp, lobster tails, and all your favorites. They even have a vegetarian menu, just ask!
And of course, they have an extensive cocktail menu.
The entree prices range from $38-50, but let's be honest, you're paying for the view too.
Their desserts shouldn't be disregarded either. They offer an assortment of sweets that are hard to choose between from the Lemon Creme Cheesecake to the Sweet Avocado Portion.
After you take the long venture up the glass elevator, you'll be seated near the window on the spinning disc, and taken for a wild ride. The best time to go is—you guessed it—as the sun sets over the city. Just remember to get up very, very slowly when you need to go the bathroom.
This historic restaurant opened back in 1972 as the first of its kind in the city. So it's lived to see several versions of the everchanging skyline.
It's no suprise this restaurant is the hub for so many engagments. Get her high enough, and she'll agree to anything! And I mean high above the ground, of course.
How many people do you think captioned it "While the world around me was spinning, time stood still"? This place is too beautiful for me to judge anyone on cheesy captions though, honestly.
Spindletop is open Tuesday through Saturday from 6 to 10 pm.
Address: 1200 Louisiana Street, Houston, Texas 77002
Why you need to go: 360 views of the entire city that you can't get anywhere else.
