A Massive Festival With Unlimited Tacos Is Coming To Houston This April
Let's feed on tacos
Springtime is a season full of cool things to do in Texas, but it's about to get even better, especially if you're a foodie. If you consider devouring tacos to be your favorite hobby, 2020 promises to be an incredible (and delicious) year.and it's going to be better than ever. Not only will you be sampling tons of these Mexican delights, but there will also be drinks, cocktails, and live entertainment.
Food is the center of the festival, and creativity will be seen throughout every dish. A group of talented chefs from all over Texas will be honoring Houston's multicultural culinary scene by creating tacos according to their own personal style.
The cooks will show off their skills in a friendly competition whose goal, in addition to marveling your palate, is to raise funds for education in Houston.
The idea is that festival-goers can try every dish, so the admission ticket gives you the ability to eat unlimited tacos. Start making space in your stomach!
The event is organized by The Ninfa Laurenzo Scholarship Fund (TNLSF) in collaboration with El Tiempo Cantina and The Original Ninfa's On Navigation. The funds will benefit The Ninfa Laurenzo Scholarship Fund.
Tacos Over Texas will be taking place at Navigation Boulevard, on April 5, from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. Join in for a whole afternoon of mouthwatering tacos of all kinds and endless fun.
The general admission ticket is $40 and gives you access to the fest, never-ending taco tasting, two drink tickets to cool-off, and live music. This event promises fun for the whole family.
You can also go VIP for $200 and obtain early admission, access to a restricted VIP area, appetizers, plus the unlimited taco samples, drinks, dessert, and live music.
If you wonder what the inspiration behind this festival that is gradually becoming a tradition is, we have three words: Tacos al Carbon.
This delicious variety of tacos invented by Ninfa Laurenzo (known as Mama Ninfa) revolutionized the restaurant industry in Texas.
Mama Ninfa's business started as a simple taco stand and slowly became The Original Ninfa's on Navigation, a popular Mexican restaurant located at 2704 Navigation Boulevard.
Over time they managed to open and run several locations in Texas and Louisiana.
For the festival, some of the best chefs in the state will take Mama Ninfa's Tacos al Carbon as inspirations for their tacos., but each of them will be adding their unique flavors to the sample taco.
You can pair your tacos with ice-cold beers, a glass of wine or a delicious margarita. The live entertainment options are yet to be announced.
