Spending your day at a cafe is always time well-spent. There's just one small thing that could ever make it better, and that's if you could hang out with cats while there! Houston's first-ever cat cafe lets you do just that, and if you feel extra attached to one of their furry felines after visiting, then you're able to take him or her home with you! El Gato Coffeehouse Cat Cafe is open every day of the week aside from Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday you can visit the cafe from 12 to 5 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday, they're open until 6 p.m. Since it's opening, El Gato Coffeehouse Cat Cafe has been a huge hit among Houstonians, and we can definitely see why. Whether you're looking to try some tasty food or drink, hang out with cats, or adopt one, the cafe lets you do all three. View this post on Instagram What are you grateful for this year? We are grateful for our Gatos. They are always here for us on good days and on bad days. They have the meowgical power to turn a frown into a smile on a difficult day. We are grateful to play a part in their adoption stories along with our rescue partner, Friends for Life. There is also a limit on the amount of people let in at a time for the same reason. If you're there on a slow weekday, or they have some open slots for the following hour on a busy day, you can definitely pay to stay longer. The cover is $11 for adults, $10 for students and $8 for children. They highly recommend booking your visit in advance to secure your spot, which includes a spot in line for their delicious food truck. Once inside, you'll be greeted by lots of adoptable kittens and cats! The cafe works with Friends for Life in order to get their cats adopted, and their adoption fee is just $95. Whether or not you leave with a cat, they'll be purry happy to have gotten to hang out with a new human, which makes all the difference. It's a Meowy Christmas indeed.
