If you've ever been to London, you've been to at least one of the vintage red phone booths to snap an artsy pic. The iconic old school antiques are super cute and fun, but sadly we can't all afford a trip to the UK to visit one. Lucky for us Southerners, this Red Phone Booth speakeasy in Nashville opened last week and it actually takes you back in time. Red Phone Booth just opened its second location on Dec. 5 in Music City, following the original location in Atlanta. The retro speakeasy creates a full Prohibition era experience starting right at the door (which happens to be a red phone booth). It's not a coincidence that they chose Dec. 5 to open the doors (well, booth) because that's the very day the Prohibition ended in 1933. Just like most speakeasies, you must know the password to enter, but you can obtain the secret code from a nearby hotel concierge, member or friend (word travels fast). You'll dial the code into the old school rotary phone inside the London-inspired antique to gain access to the lounge. Luckily alcohol is legal here in 2019, but you'll still feel naughty as you relive the Roaring '20s with fancy cocktails in a dim, alluring environment. The cozy but chic ambience is set to fully represent the era with custom Italian leather couches and fireplaces. The careful details of the interior design feature reclaimed tobacco barn wood floors, original brick, a honey onyx bar and a hand-painted ceiling with back lighting. Red Phone Booth doesn't mess around when it comes to delicate, hand-crafted cocktails. They have rare, top-shelf liquor including Yamazaki, Hibiki and Pappy Van Winkle. All the garnishes are cut-to-order and they even have hand-chipped double-reverse osmosis ice. We hope you're craving pizza when you go because they serve up cheesy Neopolitan pies in addition to other 1920s-inspired small bites. It wouldn't be a Prohibition-themed speakeasy if it didn't have cigars. The massive humidor features over 100 labels that constantly change, as they aim to provide lots of different high-quality cigars. They have an outdoor air system and five 2,500 top-of-the-line air purifiers to ensure little to no smoke is in the air.
