Tampa Is Hosting An International Cuban Sandwich Festival In March & It's FREE

The Cuban sandwich is one of the culinary creations that have made us even more thankful for the existence of Latin food. Tampa is having a massive & free Cuban sandwich festival in March, so get ready to treat yourself with this grilled, melty goodness.
The 9th Annual International Cuban Sandwich Festival will be taking over Centennial Park at Ybor City on March 29, 2020. The event promise to be massive with tons of food vendors, activities, live music, and dance performances.
From 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., three streets will be closed to create three different entertainment areas. After nine years, the event is something of a tradition in Tampa.
The festival is also an international competition that attracts cooks from all over the world, eager to win recognition as the creators of the best Cuban sandwich. South Korea, England, and France will be among the contenders this year.
If you get the VIP ticket for the event, you will get to test their creations first hand, and then vote. That means unlimited sandwich samples from some of the most excellent cooks around the world. Is it a date or what?
You'll be able to access the event for free and enjoy live music, dancing, and entertainment. They will have performances by Grammy-nominated Orchestra Fuego, Revelacion Salsera, Cukiara, Extreme Dance School, and other bands and artists. Or how about a domino tournament or a Zumba class?
You can pass by the food vendors and grab a sandwich or other Latino delights. Also, take a unique souvenir or present from the cultural vendors at the market.
Refresh yourself with the wine and beer selection available or a pretty amazing piña colada served in a pineapple.
But if you prefer a more exclusive experience, you will be able to taste all the yummy contest entries and refreshments by going VIP. You also get to skip the sun and enjoy a dedicated seating area with other tasters, media personalities, and even celebrities. VIP admission starts at $50, and you can pick an option here.
The whole family is welcome, including leashed doggies.
Don't miss the attempt at creating the biggest Cubano in the world. It's going to be epic! The idea is to try and break the Kissimmee record and create a 190-foot delicious monster.
The final product will be cut and kindly donated to a homeless shelter. If the goal is achieved, the massive mouth-watering delight may be able to feed over 450 homeless people in Tampa Bay.
Although the sandwich will be the center of attention, it will not be the only dish you can savor at the event, so make sure you attend this event with some room in your stomach.
