Aside from all the blue sky action that we've been seeing in the Pacific Northwest the past couple of days, if there's one thing we love about summer approaching, it is all the food festivals coming to us. If you're looking to bookmark flavorful Washington events in 2020, you should put this taco festival right up there. The Yakima Taco Fest is returning on September 14, 2020, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sarg Hubbard Park. The tasty, 21+ festival kicks off the National Hispanic Heritage Month. This year, you can expect it to be a fun-filled fete with traditional tacos, craft beverages, plenty of sweet Latin music to get your groove on, selfie booths, and yard games. Tickets are $12 per person. This not only includes entry, but also a 12-ounce souvenir cup from which you can sip your booze from all afternoon. *They will go on sale in the spring. But you might just want to consider this upgrade: The $45 VIP Pass gets you into the event early (so you can scope out all your fave food trucks and hit it before everyone else), includes four free tacos, two drinks, and a larger, 16-ounce cup. Proceeds benefit CWHCC and Drink Yakima to develop and market small businesses in the Yakima Valley. They also had raspberry cheesecake dessert tacos last year, so, yum. This is a summer picnic-style fiesta, so don't forget those blankets so you can find someplace to sit while balancing your piled-up plates. If you know a thing or two about this valley, you also know it's home to several hundreds of wineries. So you can expect spots like AntoLin Cellars, Gilbert Cellars, and Kana Winery to bring all the vino too. Stevan Chase | Facebook There's so much to sample, so the prices are pretty affordable — $2 for tacos and $5 for drinks. Last year, they also had a swag booth with the cutest $1 stickers — we're talking Frida getting her taco and wine fix, and jamming with Pancho Villa. So keep your eyes peeled out. Whether its the spicy treats or the summer festivities, we think this is going to give and your friends a lot to "taco" about.
