Be honest, non-sports fans — the only reason you tune in for the Super Bowl are the hilarious commercials that air between the game. But with most of those showing up on Youtube now, you’re probably only still watching for the half-time shows. Super Bowl 2020's half-time show was one to remember, with the epic duo of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira rocking the stage. The two Latina icons have had a lot to say about their performance this past weekend, and unsurprisingly, so have their many fans.\nJ Lo herself said in an interview before the show that the experience was a dream come true, and that they would try to give the best Super Bowl show ever. While Jennifer’s fiancée, Alex Rodriguez, said the performance would show fans what a working mom can do.\nThe duo performed some of their greatest hits, with Jennifer making fans scream with her pole routine.\nJ.Lo had some heartwarming thanks to give following her show, creating an Instagram post sharing her sentiments.\n"Thank you to my incredible team for the most epic halftime I could have ever imagined. I love you guys so much!", the post read — and she went on to tag a long string of people thanking them individually.\nView this post on Instagram Thank you to my incredible team for the most epic halftime I could have ever imagined. Hemos escalado el Kilimanjaro y los latinos hemos hecho historia esta noche. No lo hubiéramos logrado sin ustedes!! The best birthday gift has been the support of all my fans and the most amazing and hardworking team an artist could wish for. We Latinos climbed Kilimanjaro and made history tonight and we couldn’t have done it without all of you! A post shared by Shakira (@shakira) on Feb 2, 2020 at 6:53pm PST\nWhile it's clear that the performers themselves loved their show and had the time of their lives, the response to it varied greatly — and some fans were more opinionated than others.\nOn social media sites across the board, Jennifer and Shakira were catching heat by a lot of middle-aged moms who felt the show was too raunchy for family viewing.\nThis Twitter user posted that while she enjoyed the singers, the performance itself was not family-friendly.\nBeautiful voice but too raunchy for family viewing. Football games is are not viewed by adults only.— #Really? (@Really84567419) February 3, 2020\nOthers of the same demographic, however, thought it was empowering.\nAnother Tweeter identified with the empowering middle-aged mothers' performances, wishing she could be as fit as these Latinas.\nIm a middle-aged mom and thought it was an amazing show. A perfect celebration of women&diversity. The only thing I'd complain about is my own inability to be anywhere near as fit as those two are.— AC Mink (@minxhalo) February 3, 2020\nHowever, this Twitter user felt the performance set back all the hard work of the feminist movement.\nIt’s all disgusting and sets back the feminism movement 100 years. Shameful and disgusting— all of it!— 🐅🧡 𝒞𝓁𝑒𝓂𝓈🐅𝓃𝑔𝓊𝓇𝓁 🧡🐅 (@mrsbarrelchase2) February 3, 2020\nShakira mentioned in an interview that while her own show and Jennifer’s were very different, they were complementary to each other and the team worked tirelessly to give fans something they would enjoy.\nThe show also saw appearances from J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Jennifer’s 11-year-old daughter, Emme, following in her mother’s footsteps.\nWhat did you think of the halftime show?\nOne thing is for sure, this was a performance people will likely remember and be talking about for a long time to come!
