It has officially been one year since the first-ever documented case of COVID-19, and it's safe to say that the virus doesn't deserve a very happy birthday.

The virus is traced back to November 17, 2019, when doctors in China discovered the virus in a 55-year-old man, but there has yet to be a confirmed patient-zero.

Now, one year to the day, the virus has a caused a global pandemic and virtually ruined everyone's year, causing the virus to receive not-so-happy birthday wishes on Twitter.

Whether it be straight-up anger or just simple sarcasm, those on Twitter did not hold back their thoughts of the virus on its birthday.

Some tweets weren't quite as nice.

The virus has ruined the lives of billions around the world.

As one year of COVID wraps up, the future does look bright, as two companies have produced successful vaccines in recent weeks.

But creators of the vaccine are warning that you should still be practicing safety precautions such as mask-wearing and social distancing, as life may not return to normal until next winter.
