One South Florida city has a reason to be happy this morning. Naples was just named one of America's best small cities. Coming in at the top five, it is one of eight Florida cities getting high praise in the report.\n"Life-affirming sunsets, natural bounty and impressive dining and culture coalesce in a coveted seaside oasis," said Resonance, a marketing and branding website that cultivated the list.\nThe report ranked this sun-drenched town at number 2 on its list of "Best Small Cities in America." Other Florida cities to make the list were Pensacola, Gainesville, Punta Gorda, Tallahassee, Port St. Lucie, Panama City, and the Villages.\nNaples' "life-affirming" amenities and quality of life earned the city the top spot in the "deep Place" category, saying how impressed they were by the many places to go outdoors and beaches to catch a tan.\nTo bring their point home, they used Barefoot Beach Preserve County Park as the prime example of what makes Naples so special. The list touted its birdlife and undeveloped barrier island to highlight the area's beauty.\nThey also loved the downtown area. The ranking sang the Naples Pier's praises, which sits right in the heart of the city, describing it and the sunset backdrop as "as perfect an urban escape as you'll find anywhere."\nView this post on Instagram An appreciation for the elements 🔥🌴🌀 A post shared by Andrew Garcia 🌀🏴☠️ (@riptidegarcia) on Jun 24, 2020 at 6:22pm PDT\nNaples also managed to rank high in other categories.
