Visitors to Walt Disney World in Orlando will have fewer places to stay once they enter the magical resort. Disney World is pulling the reopening of two major hotels to "reevaluate" its timeline. They also delayed welcoming back guests at other lodging locations.

"Given the current situation, there are some Disney Resort hotels and other areas that are not, as of this time, being scheduled for reopening yet," the website says.

The hotels that won't reopen as of now are Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.

Both were scheduled to reopen by October but now won't see guests at least for the foreseeable future.

Two other popular destinations, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, have new opening dates of October 4 and November 1.

While the pushback is undoubtedly a blow for visitors wanting to visit the resort, it shouldn't have come as a surprise.

The sprawling resort, along with its counterparts in California, Europe, and Asia, were shuttered as the world dealt with the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Disney began a slow reopening process, being the last of Orlando's major theme parks to reopen its doors.

Since then, it has put in place several measures to keep guests safe and the disease out of its parks.

Before guests can enter, their temperature must be checked to make sure they don't have a fever. Everyone in the park also must wear a mask, only being allowed to take it off if eating or drinking at a restaurant. There's also a capacity cap for each park.

While the resort is technically open, it hasn't returned to its full pre-COVID operations. Several rides have been permanently shuttered, and Disney is following on the heels of its rivals in instituting huge discounts to make up for revenue losses.

While operating with a relatively clean bill of health, the theme park looks vastly different from before the pandemic began in Florida.

There is currently no word on when the shuttered hotels will reopen to guests.
