From Egyptian Food To Exotic Burgers, Orlando Is Getting Tons Of Interesting New Eateries
“Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what’s for lunch.”
Maybe you fancy yourself an amateur food connoisseur, maybe you love being that friend in the group to have a cool new spot to suggest for drinks, or maybe you just really like trying new foods around Orlando. Whatever your reason, you’re about to need to buy a gym membership because the amount of new restaurants Orlando just got and is about to get, is no joke.
International Drive is host to a variety of foods to cater to the myriad tastes of O-town’s worldly tourists. Makani Restaurant and Lounge just opened where Sugarcanes Rum Bar and Lounge used to be, and it specializes in Egyptian fare. College Park is another hotspot, where Due Amici is now serving an Italian menu.
Just a little farther north on Edgewater Drive is more Middle Eastern food at Jaber. One day a week is just not enough for taco lovers, and Tin and Taco has your back with the opening of their third location just a minute down the street.
Let it never be said that Orlando lacks variety. Twisted Root Burger think there’s no better way to celebrate Hump Day than with a camel burger. No, you read that right. They also offer boar, elk, and ostrich. They’re set to open soon in Winter Park and are currently hiring.
Summer saw some awesome new openings, including La Campana Mexican Restaurant on Lee Road, where the most amazing ceviche lives. Olives has you covered for all your gyro, falafel, and shawarma needs in downtown. And set to open on Sept. 12 in Winter Park Village is Salata, a tossed-to-order salad joint.
Slated for October, SODO will be welcoming Hungry Pants, a “plant-curious” fast-fine eatery. The menu is noted for being “100% plant-based, 80% of the time,” so try imagining anything between a turmeric tahini noodle bowl, and a grass-fed burger.
So if you’ve been sitting on that clever foodie Instagram handle for a while, now’s probably a great time to finally act on it.
