If you weren’t a Star Wars fan before The Mandalorian was released on Disney+, then you certainly were after seeing the irresistibly adorable bulging eyes and pointy ears of “The Child.” Dubbed “Baby Yoda” by the internet, the little green alien baby and his masked adoptive father took the world by storm when the show first debuted in November 2019. Now, they’re both finally making an appearance at Disney parks, and the fan hype has been awakened.\nThe demand for everything Baby Yoda, especially a plushie, shocked both Disney and Lucasfilm, and the companies have been working hard to meet fan demands. While we won’t be getting a plushie at the parks just yet, it was announced that The Child could be soon be found at Build-A-Bear Workshops across the country come Spring.\nInstead, fans will just have to stuff all their hopes and dreams inside this adorable Baby Yoda backpack, complete with frog accents, of course. Hefted onto one’s shoulder, you could almost imagine yourself the adoptive parent of the baby alien on the run from enemies. Launched by Loungefly, we have no release date for The Child in backpack form yet.\nAs for Papa Mando himself, a Lucasfilm official told In The Know that fans will have the chance to snag photos with him—and wonder if he really is smiling under that helmet—in the very near future.\nOne fan gushed on Twitter that the backpack was so cute.\nomg that is soooo cute:)— Cheryl Lynn (@DisneyMom7998) February 20, 2020\nOf course, if you can’t wait for either of those attractions to land, we wouldn’t blame you. The online Shop Disney store has tons of Mandalorian and other Star Wars merch to check out, the only downside is having to wait for shipping.\nAnother Twitter user found the perfect reaction GIF, proving that we are all really Michael Scott.\npic.twitter.com/qdkcGcpTS9— Kathryn Price (@SimplyKatieP) February 20, 2020\nWhile it’s only speculation at this point, eventually seeing an animatronic version of The Child at Galaxy’s Edge isn’t completely out of the question, either.\nThis Twitter user felt a combination of the Lougefly backpack and the Mando character would be the perfect pair.\nit will just be him wearing the baby yoda loungefly— Citizen Craig (@citizen_craig) February 20, 2020\nPerhaps these new attractions will help ease guest tensions over exceeding ride wait times. Galaxy’s Edge is full of adventure and surprises, and there will be more to come in the future.
