Number of workers being laid off
The layoffs are the result of reduced demand in air travel since the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March.
At the height of the pandemic, United Airlines lost 95% of its air travel customers, which resulted in the airline warning its employee base in July that 36,000 of them could be laid off.
There is no word yet if this will hit the state's other airports.
