Late last night, President Trump denied California's request for wildfire relief just hours before a major fire danger day in the state. 

On Friday, October 16, temperatures all over Southern California are expected to get close to (or, in some cases, exceed) 100 degrees.

The fire danger comes from a combination of the high temperatures and expected high winds — Orange County, in particular, is under a severe fire weather watch through Friday.

The longer it takes for California and its communities to recover, the more severe, devastating, and irreversible the economic impacts will be.

The federal aid that was rejected was to help California recover from the six wildfires that ravaged the state during the month of September during the largest fire season in the state's history.

The timing of President Trump's rejection isn't lost on some Twitter users.

...And others speculated on reasons as to why this happened.
