San Antonio Gyms Are Reopening Now & Here's How They'll Be Different
So many will be opening Monday!
It has been quite a few weeks since Texas went under stay-at-home orders that required most businesses to shut down for not being essential. Gyms and fitness clubs were a part of this group, and they have been closed for quite some time. As Texas reopens this May, gyms are allowed to reopen once again to their members. However, things will be quite different going forward.
Two popular chain gyms that will be reopening soon are Gold's Gym and Life Time Fitness. Other big gyms such as Joe's Gym and Body Gym will be reopening as well. These fitness centers are eager to start running again, as are many of their members.
Life Time Fitness plans to reopen on Monday, May 18, with many new rules set in place to stay up to safety standards.
The club will be putting in place new cleaning and sanitizing procedures, temperature checking, extra cleaning stations for members to use before and after they use a machine or weight, and social distanced classes and protocols.
Gold’s Gym locations in San Antonio will also reopen for public use on Monday, May 18, with a variety of new rules in place to ensure security and safety requirements are met.
There will be new sanitation methods, social distancing protocols, and the number of members allowed inside the facility will be capped.
Gloves and masks will be required for all employees, yet only gloves will be required for visiting members (with masks still recommended). There will be extra cleaning methods put in place to include cleaning breaks during open hours and after-hours professional sanitizing.
Those coming to work out at either of these two gym chains in San Antonio will be able to get fit with the popular cardio and strength training machines, free weights, and areas designated for stretching.
However, many amenities of both gyms will be closed down or limited for safety reasons such as their exercise and cycle rooms, pools and saunas, locker rooms, and kids' centers.
At Body Gym in San Antonio, face masks will constantly be required for members, even during workouts.
They will also be blocking off some equipment so that no members are within 6 feet of each other while working out.
Joe's Gym will be reopening on Monday as well, with their own social distancing and sanitization procedures in place to keep their members safe.
During their days of long hours of operation, there will be mid-day to allow employees to conduct a full sanitation and disinfection of the gym.
