You Could Be The Newest Seattle Seahawks Cheerleader If You Clear Tryouts Next Month
They'll even have training workshops for cheap.
Come gameday, Emerald City glistens blue, green, and silver. While we're all pretty pumped up about cheering for our favorite NFL stars, there's someone feeding that energy on the field. We're talking about the Seattle Seahawks cheerleaders, of course. And with the piece of news we have, you could be one of the Sea Gals/Boys too!
The Seahawks Dancers have announced their cheerleading squad tryouts for the 2020 season. If you're a jazz or pom pro, the open auditions are on March 21. If you're more of a hip hop person, you can try out on March 22. The exact location is TBD.
While more details about what you can expect are yet to be announced, from what we know from 2018, there are usually three rounds where you'll be judged based on your dance skill, stage presence, and overall appearance.
It included a one-minute freestyle dance sesh to music provided by the team. And if you were through the semi-finals, the dancers taught a routine to perform for the finals.
If you don't know where to start or have no prior experience, no worries. This year, you can attend workshops at the LA Fitness in Bellevue to prep for the open call. You have to be 18 years or older to participate.
The 90-minute workshops will be conducted by the Seahawks Dancers Management. So you know you'll be trained by the best.
They'll help you brush up on your technique, learn the choreography, plus you'll get tips and tricks to help make a lasting impression.
Tickets are on sale right now for $20 per class. You can find more details on the schedule here.
This isn't just for the girls. Boys can join the tryouts too.
Last year, the Seahawks announced that they had added men to the squad for the first time. And from the looks of it, they've loved the spotlight!
So, do you think you can bring your contagious energy?
As Vince, one of the rookies on the squad says, "You either win something or learn something. If you don't make it one year, then you keep taking class till something clicks. And pretty soon, you're on the team, dancing. It's a really cool job to have."
