One of the greatest things about Georgia is that we have so many places to go apple picking and really immerse ourselves into the fall season. Instead of choosing just one farm to go to, there will be an apple festival in Georgia with options and vendors from all around the state.

On Oct. 12-13, and again on Oct. 19-20, Georgia's Apple Festival is back. It is located in Elijay, Georgia and there will be tons of vendors with fresh apples straight from their farms.

There will be apple treats, arts and crafts and even hand-crafted items you can buy. Additionally, there will be a parade and an antique car show.

This apple festival happens every year, and each year it seems to be getting bigger and bigger. It is so large, and so many people come out to it, that they have to split it up into two different weekends.

Ellijay sits right in the Appalachian Mountains, so you know these apples will be some of the best, and not your average grocery store apple. There will be almost a dozen orchards in attendance, with many flavors of apples.

You can get Gala, Red Delicious, Honey Crisp, Gold Rush, Fuji, Pink Lady, Gold Delicious and so many more. Whether you are a gold, red or green type of individual, there will be plenty for you.

There will also be sweet treats for you to purchase once you are there, and the smell of them will be too hard to resist. You might see options like apple cider donuts, fried apples, fresh candied apples, fried apple pie and caramel apple bowls.

The vendor names have not been released yet, but there will be hundreds of them. On Saturday, the festival is from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday it closes at 5:00 p.m.

If you cannot make it to the festival, you can still enjoy fresh apples from one of the many orchards in the surrounding areas. This orchard has $8 apple picking and the opportunity to play with baby goats, and this one has fresh apple cider donuts that you can indulge in.
