The Magic Of Hogwarts Will Take Over Atlanta In November For A Massive Wizardry Ball
Imagine the Yule Ball with a lot more booze.
There are few series that we've carried in our hearts from childhood to adulthood, but Harry Potter will forever remain an integrate part of who we are. No matter how many years have past since the last book or movie were released, any Potterhead still feels nostalgic at any mention of J.K. Rowling's iconic series. Hogwarts is bringing a magical evening of wizardry to Atlanta for the Harry Potter Wizard's Ball that's just as magnificent as you've dreamed.
While a traditional ball is a bit uppity, the Wizard's Ball is the ultimate party for wizards trapped in a Muggle's body. On Nov. 9, The Masquerade will be taken over by a surplus of costumes, wands and owls at what may be the only chance for adults (18 and up) to channel their inner wizard without judgment. This is even bigger than the Harry Potter .
You'll have the opportunity to stock up on merch from self-described "geeky" vendors, a wand shop, and a boatload of butterbeer for those 21 and up. You can also connect with others from your house with Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw badges.
To really immerse yourself in the experience, you'll need to put together a lavish costume that can go head-to-head with other creatives and cosplayers during the midnight costume contest. You can compete for prizes in the following categories:
• Best Overall Wizard (Male & Female)
• Best Group
• Best Craftsmanship
• Crowd Favorite
• Best Potter Inspired Costume
It wouldn't be a party at The Masquerade without a ton of dancing, and there will be plenty of DJs and live entertainment to keep the party going.
If you want to turn your night at Hogwarts to a weekend adventure, you can upgrade your ticket to include the Wizard Pub Crawl on Nov. 8, which includes free shots at five local bars in Virginia Highlands.
After the ball ends at 2 a.m., you can retreat to this. Seriously, it's a Potterheads dream weekend plan so don't miss it.
When: Nov. 9
Address: 50 Lower Alabama Street, Atlanta, GA 30303
Why You Need To Go: This is the largest Harry Potter celebration in the South where you reminisce on all the epic moments of your childhood.
