This Austin Shop Sells Lost & Surrendered Airport Treasure
Time to find a good deal.
Many know about the tight restrictions of what you can and cannot take through an airport, from no bottles of liquid to no dangerous blades of any sort. However, some travelers may not be as well-versed as others, and they still try to bring restricted items onto their flights. This results in their luggage being confiscated and eventually resold to the public in Austin, Texas at the State Surplus Store.
The State Surplus Store in East Austin is a wonderland for all things restricted airport items. It's a hotspot for tools, knives, and blades, along with fashion items like jewelry and sunglasses.
You can find bins upon bins of contraband and accessories, all taken from those who didn't get to the airport properly prepared.
The prices for all of the items found in the store are incredibly low, with knives starting at $3, jewelry and watches starting at $5 and entire pieces of furniture starting at $9.
You could potentially score an entire set of kitchen knives for an incredible price here!
A lot of kitchen tools aren't allowed in airports, so maybe you'll be able to leave with a new handheld blender or fruit peeler.

It is very easy to lose a pair of sunglasses or some jewelry, and you can find it all at the State Surplus Store. Some high dollar designer pieces can be found here!
