When hearing the word "alpine lift" does it make you thing of expensive skiis and snowy mountains? Yeah, us too. Luckily, Texas is home to the type of lift that's about as as easy to get on as it is to enjoy. Spider Mountain has Texas' first and only lift-served mountain bike park with an alpine coaster that takes you all the way there!

Not only is it Texas' first and only lift-served mountain bike park, it's also the only one of it's kind in the USA. The alpine coaster soars above Lake Buchanan and has breathtaking views the entire way up. Once you're 350 feet in the air, you'll be able to fully take in the gorgeous surroundings near Lake Buchanan. If you're an avid mountain biker, you're in luck. Spider Mountain is covered in cleverly named spider themed trails (Charlotte's Web, Venom, Sticky Icky) for you to bike through. And yes, the coaster holds onto those bikes for you!

Even if you don't bike, that's fine. You can still enjoy the alpine coaster and head right back to where you started. The views and the experience are unreal, and made for pretty much anyone to enjoy! It's $20 for adults, and $15 for youth ages 3-18 for a round-trip ticket. If you are the avid biker I was referring to, then you can experience 5 different trails ranging from beginner to expert, they're all downhill so you'll end up back to the bottom of the lift. No one's getting left behind!

Spider Mountain is open 12 p.m. - 7 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. They have plans to continue to open more and more trails, so even if the trip has to wait, that's fine! It just means that by the time you come, there will probably be even more trails open. You're in for a treat no matter what at Spider Mountain.

For more information and to learn more before your visit, take a look at Spider Mountain's website here. The park is located at 200 Greenwood Hills Trail, Burnet, TX 78611, just 60 miles northwest of Austin.
