You Can Explore The Most Magical Hidden Caverns Near Austin
Longhorn Cavern State Park in Burnet, TX is as magical as it looks
If you've ever wanted to go on an adventure straight out of Indiana Jones, we've got just the place for you to visit. The Longhorn Cavern State Park in Burnet, Texas will not only make you feel like you're on an adventure, but it will get you the coolest and most magical photos too.
The park is free to enter any day of the week. Feel free to walk in and explore the park at no cost, but there are also some attractions that have a fee. One of these attractions includes a walking tour of the caverns which last 90 minutes. The fee is only $18 and you get to see some of the biggest attractions including Crystal City, Hall of Diamonds and Moon Room plus much more.
They also have a "wild cave" tour that is two to three hours long and is $55 per person. This tour allows people to go through the undeveloped lower level of the cave, crawling below to places not normally seen to the public.
The Cavern is open every day of the week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
Around the park, there are several picnic areas for you to enjoy as well as the original park building from the 1930s that you can visit.
Unfortunately you can't camp at the park, but their website suggests there are places to stay around the area.
Pets are allowed at the park as long as they stay on a leash so feel free to take your puppy along for the adventure.
