If you've imagined your version of Bridge to Terabithia, you'll be happy to know that there's a place just like it in real life. The Breckenridge trail troll in Colorado is a giant 15-foot troll that guards (more like rests on) a foresty path. Plus, there's no toll to see him up close. Created by the artist Thomas Dambo, Isak Hearthstone, the troll is a giant 15-foot tall sculpture made from local recycled wood. He was created back in 2018 as part of the Breckenridge Creative Arts Festival Breck Create, but he was loved so much by locals that he was rebuilt and moved to a less residential location. Summit Daily reports that the giant troll is now nestled near the Stephen C. West Ice Arena and Illinois Gulch Trailhead. That's not even the best part. This troll is pretty friendly as there's no toll or fee to see him up close. That might be because there are no bridges around, but still, it's a win-win. So gear up and get ready to go on the hunt for a troll! If you have a hard time finding Isak, you can pop by the Breckenridge Welcome Center and ask for directions. There's no need to be scared, though, as visitors and the town love him. Plus, the smile on his face is reassuring.
