Crystals are super trendy right now and it’s easy to see why. There aren’t many SoCal destinations that are off the grid, but we’ve found one hidden gem (all pun intended). You can go crystal digging in California at this super cool oceanside spot in San Diego. All you need to bring is your BFF and a sense of adventure. Oceanview Mine is a one-of-a-kind experience that you’ve got to try out at least once. Whether you’re a San Diego local or just visiting California, you’ll love this fun beachside adventure. Unlike your childhood adventures, you won’t have to crawl through dirty secret passages or dig with your hands to find a hidden treasure. Oceanview Mine provides all the equipment and instructions you need to find beautiful crystal gemstones. You can sign up on their website for a digging expedition; advance reservations are required. Prices are $75 per adult. Since the dig starts promptly at 11 am, Oceanview Mine requests that guests arrive promptly at 10:30. The dig ends at 3 pm and they are open Thursday through Sunday. Arriving early will give you plenty of time to check-in, pay, and drive up to the top of Chief Mountain, where you will be digging.
