There are plenty of popular places to visit in Texas during the summer but the ultimate spot is the beach. While most people go to South Padre Island there are other beaches around that are a little less crowded. Eisenhower State Park in Denison, Texas has a beautiful hidden beach just waiting to be your summer escape.\nJust an hour north of Dallas, Eisenhower State Park offers a great opportunity for a day trip. Visitors of the park can enjoy four miles of trails that lead them to the shoreline. The park has several horseshoe stations and swings for people of any age. Visitors are allowed to fish from one of their two fishing piers and they have a cleaning station close the boat dock. Tent camping starts at $12 and RV camping at $20 or you can also choose to stay in one of their cabins for $55. Daily entrance fee is only $5 and if you're not camping, the park opens at 8 a.m. every day and closes at 8 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday.
