A Massive Free Blueberry Festival Is Coming To Texas This Summer
The Blueberry Festival is hitting the streets of Nacogdoches this June.
Texas loves hosting festivals dedicated to the seasons fresh harvests, from strawberries to watermelons to poppies. Now we can add one more to that list and prepare for the seasonal blueberry festival. The Texas Blueberry Festival will be taking over Nacogdoches on June 8th.
From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the festival will consist of all things blueberry including plenty of tasty treats, food competitions, local art and a blueberry pet parade. The pet parade will have the cutest pets in town all in costume competing to see who will win the prize for most unique, cutest and best costume of the year.
If you happen to get hungry during all the events going on throughout the day, you can try a variety of blueberry flavored drinks like beer and slushies. On the off chance that nothing suits your fancy, you will have the opportunity to pick your own blueberries for $1.50 a pound.
This year the festival is adding a NASCAR attraction which involves visitors being able to go on a simulator and feel what it would be like to race one of these speedy machines. If NASCAR action wasn't enough, the festival will also be hosting a car show where locals will have the chance to show off their cool creations.
Of course, no festival would be complete without some shopping. The festival will feature multiple vendors selling everything from hats to jewelry and obviously blueberries.
The fest is free to enter and will be located in downtown Nacogdoches, Texas. For more information about this delicious festival including competitions and times of events, you can visit their website here.
